Day #4 - Denver to San Francisco

Supershuttle picked us up at about 10:50 a.m. and got us to the airport about 2 hours early for a 1:40 p.m. flight to San Francisco.

The Denver Airport is huge with many of levels and it is not very easy to navigate.
Here are photos of the main terminal.

Southwest Airlines arrived at SFO about 20 minutes early We took BART to the city and then a  MUNI train and arrived home by 4:30 p.m.

A very enjoyable trip!

Day #3 - Denver

Albert, Greg & I had breakfast this morning at Sam's #3 Diner at 15th & Curtis. We managed to stay somewhat dry during a heavy rainstorm.
Afterward, about 11:00 a.m., we had a Counterpoint rehearsal at Hotel Monaco in Randy's hotel room. The room was big enough for all 12 singers plus Joe for our rehearsal. It saved the chorus from having to rent rehearsal space elsewhere.

I heard several choruses in the early afternoon, including the S.F. L/G Chorus and the LA Men's Chorus.

I went to lunch with Faust, Aaron & Randy at a Thai restaurant near the Performing Arts Center - slow service but excellent food. We had to hurry to get to our Counterpoint tech rehearsal at 3:45 p.m. in the Stage Theatre.

In the late afternoon, I finished the AVA walk I started yesterday.
Here are some photos from the walk:

I went back to the hotel to get some rest before our concert tonight.

Counterpoint guys waiting in the lobby for our 9:45 p.m.call.

Our concert set started late (about 10:45 p.m) and finished about 11:00 p.m.
Great performance - I'm proud that we sang some difficult music and did very well. We got a standing ovation and many, many congratulations.

Afteward, I socialized with some of the chorus and walked back to the hotel about midnight.

GALA FESTIVAL - DENVER

I attended 5 concerts on Sunday afternoon,Council Oak Men's Chorale, Seattle Women's Chorus, Menharmonics, The Choral Project, and Golden Gate Men's Chorus.
Golden Gate Men's Chorus
 Golden Gate Men's Chorus

Golden Gate had a fabulous set and gave one of the best performances at GALA.

The Seattle Women's Chorus and The Choral Project also had exceptional performances.

I attended "Our Legacy = Our Song" in the evening with many choruses performing.  It was a concert celebrating GALA's history through stories, photographs, narration and with music commisssioned by the choruses over the 30-year history.

Got back to the hotel about 11:30 p.m. - a very long day - I heard some glorious music today.
