New England Fall Foliage Tour
DAY #1

I took Virgin America Airlines non-stop from San Francisco to Boston today and arrived about 3:30 p.m. local time.
I picked up a rental car at Boston Logan Airport and drove to the Hilton Garden Inn in Burlington and checked in.

Saturday night I attended Opening Night of the Boston Symphony.

Photos were allowed before and after but not during the performance.

All-Beethoven Program

Romance No.1 in G for Violin & Orchestra
Romance No. 2 in F for Violin & Orchestra
Symphony #7 in A
Izhak Perlman, Violin Soloist & Conductor

This was my first time hearing Izhak Perlman live. He is an excellent musician and displayed great sensitivity and technique, noticable immediately with the difficult unaccompanied double-stop technique at the beginning of the Romance No. 1. A special platform was constructed which allowed him to sit while conducting the Symphony.

It was a festive event and an excellent program.

Afterward,  I went back to the hotel and had dinner in the dinner in the restaurant.

Clam chowder, salad & beer.
