DAY #5

CAPE ELIZABETH  LIGHTHOUSE (1791)

PORTLAND, MAINE
This morning I took a short walking tour of Portland

City Hall

Monument Square Farmer's Market




Vignola Cinque Terre Restaurant
Ashley recommended this restaurant, but it was closed mid-week for lunch.


Portland Regency Hotel


I drove east along Highway 1 to Bath and on to Bristol.


This famous lighthouse was built in 1835 and commissioned by John Quincy Adams. It is pictured on the Maine State quarter.


I climbed the stairs of the lighthouse and this is the view from the top.

Late in the afternoon I drove from Bristol to Augusta to spend the night.
