TUCSON TO SCOTTSDALE

I left Tucson about 9:30 a.m. and drove to Scottssdale, arriving about 11:30. Got to the ballpark about noon for a 1:00 game between the Giants and the Indians.

It was a perfect day for the game and it turned out to be a sellout, 10,000+.

Matt Cain pitched the first 3-2/3 innings and looked pretty good, 5 hits and 1 run, and then left after he reached his supposed pitch count for the day.

Fear the beard, Brian Wilson, pitched one inning during the middle of the game and retired the side. His beard has grown over the off season.

I had a very fine seat along the first base line.

The highlight of the game was Buster Posey's home run. He was the Designated Hitter today.
